Latest character development for 'The Roomies' Interactive book!

Here are some of the latest drawing I have penned up for the characters called the 'The Grubbs'. These characters will feature in the up and coming interactive childrens book called 'The Roomies' developed by  Liam Birch http://liambirchphoto.com and me.

I have included 3 characters that will feature heavily in the first interactive book. I have experimented with skin colours and line weight but this is not a final feature yet! The next stage is to see how these characters interact with real life elements. Heres a link to some great photographs taken by Liam Birch http://liambirchphoto.com/2012/05/27/sun-is-shining/ . I will be working with these images to create scenes for the book. Liam has carefully taken these photographs with considerations of lighting and props. The aim is to create a unique and believeable illustrations to accompany Liam Birch's well written story and photographs.

So stay posted for further development..... its all very exciting :o)

any comments are welcome ;o)

Batman Pencil Art Work

Apart from creating cartoon and caricatures I still enjoy creating art work with traditional media. This is the type of Art work I was producing during my college Art years.

I used a hatching technique for the first image which offers a nice shading  to the pencil drawing. The second image allowed me to express my enjoyment of using pencil crayon to help blend various colours and tones for the moon lighting on batman.

Say hello to my little friend part 2!

I added some addition details to the original image. Having been inspired by some art nouveau illustrations i wanted to apply this to the scarface image all incorporating with 'the world is yours' slogan. I used illustrator quite a lot and i think this works well with my illustrations.

Say hello to my lil friend!!

I wanted to create a very animated Tony Montana in a some what caricature form. I thought the use of a chopped up board background works well and adds to the scarface gangster theme i wanted.

Ive started using simple vector shapes to help create border to surround the character... i thinks this works quite well so i might continue to use similar style for other art work.
The world is yours!

Hadoken!!!!!!!

Been experimenting with various styles of illustrations. I love Street fighter and found myself drawing Blanka and Ryu in battle. I have used indian ink for the outline and photoshop to colour up the drawing. I am still experimenting with the background but i have posted two backgrounds styles that i have done so far. I wanted to create something fun and little different from most the street fighter art work you see on the internet.

I hope to create some more street fighter images in the future so watch this space!!
